Default LOSING FORMATS

I'm using Excel 2007 at work, I need to create reports that are
compatible with 97-2003 formats. I save the documents as 97-2003
compatbile mode. Once in a while I lose all of the
formatting...borders, font changes from Arial to MS San Serif, dates
change to numeric numbers. I don't why this is happening. The
compatibility checker only finds 1 minor error. I'm going crazy as
what to do to correct this problem.'

Can any out there help me with this problem?

Thanks,

Razzy
