Default Excel 2007, some text print in gray

I am working in Excel 2007 and have selected certain text to appear and print
in light gray font. The screen indicates this but when I print, it prints in
black. I went into page layout to make sure the black/white box on the sheet
tab is NOT selected and it is not. I've tried it both ways and it won't work.

I went into Word and printed a document with text that was black and gray
and it printed fine. So, not thinking it's the printer driver.

Any assistance would be great. How do I get the gray font to print in gray
in Excel 2007?

Thanks much.
