Default pivot tables

I am trying to create a pivot table to analize a large spreadsheet of invoice
data.
The spreadsheet contains details of a number of invoices, and each invoice
is broken down into different elements. The spreadsheet contains over a 1000
rows of data. When I try to count the number of invoices the answer equalls
the number of rows in the spreadsheet, what I need is the actual number of
individual invoices. So if the number of invoices process was 2, but one
invoice number appeared in 700 rows and the second invoice appeared in 300
rows the count figures would be 700 and 300. I actually want the answere to
be 2. Can this be done

Assume you have Invoice# in Column A and Status in Col B (You just need
another column with a header and any data)...

Select Col A and Col B and create a PIVOT TABLE
In the LAYOUT
Put Inovice# in the ROW area
and second column in Data area...

If you see COUNT of STATUS just finish building your PIVOT TABLE... If not
then double click it and change the SUM to COUNT...
