Default Where did the .nk2 files go

A friend of mine called and said that his auto name complete feature stopped
working.
After doing some research I called him and had him open his .nk2 file with
note pad and he said it was empty.

He said that he ran an archive and he thinks that is when the auto complete
stopped working. My question is. Does doing an archive in outlook blow these
files out? What else could cause these files to go away?

Thanks in advance

You may want to post this in a forum dedicated to Outlook--not excel.

Looks like an Outlook question. Pl. post in the Outlook forum to increase
your chances of getting an answer...

Thanks
When I started out I was in outlook
This site seems to get harder and harder to figure out.
I posted a question about .nk2 files and had a list of posts come up.
When I went to post my question it told me to log in.
When I logged in it said I was in office which I believe Outlook is part of.
NOw I am getting repys from people on a site that is devoted to Excel

YOu tell me? Is it me or this site that seems more intent on looks then
functionality?

And by the way ... I know that I can't spell :-)

I do my best to stay away from the web based interfaces.

I use a newsreader and connect directly to the MS newsgroup servers.

Use a real news reader to post to and access news groups.

The CDO Interface you're using is flaky at the best of times.

Outlook Express or Forte Agent or similar news reader.
