What I would like to do is be able to have a cell in which you could pick
from a drop down box, for example, the area where a resident lived and then have a sublist appear so you can pick the actual resident's name. I can set it up using the indirect function as separate columns, but I want to do this in just one column (like menu options). Is this possible? I have looked on contextures.com, but it does not provide enough clarification for me to understand if there is a process out there. Please help! |

You can't do that in just a single cell. You could do it with 2 cells (using
dynamic validation - found on contextures). To get the actual appearance of what you describe, you could try using forms and VBA (beyond my knowledge, I'm afraid). But, if you are willing to go that route, I'd assume you'd be willing to just use a second cell. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "AIT" wrote: What I would like to do is be able to have a cell in which you could pick from a drop down box, for example, the area where a resident lived and then have a sublist appear so you can pick the actual resident's name.
