UPDATING LINKS TO OTHER WORKBOOKS :(
Help! I don't want excel to automatically update links to another workbook
when I open it. What should I do? I want it to ask me if it should update the links (like what occurs in excel 2003) |

UPDATING LINKS TO OTHER WORKBOOKS :(
Thank you Alojz.
When I go to edit links and then Startup Prompt, one of the choices is "Let users choose to display the alert or not" but the i don't actually get prompted when I open the document whether or not I'd like to update the links. At this point, it isn't updating (which I want), but it's not prompting whether I'd like to or not. Also, when I got to "Excel Options" and then "Formulas", I need to have the document be on Manual. If I choose Automatic, it starts to update the links to the other workbooks. "Alojz" wrote: Go to Data - Edit links and change it according ur wish in left down dialogue box. "Dan" wrote: Help! Also, when I go to Data -- Edit Links, it says "Update" and automatic is
chosen and I can't choose Manual for some reason "Alojz" wrote: Go to Data - Edit links and change it according ur wish in left down dialogue box. "Dan" wrote: Help! UPDATING LINKS TO OTHER WORKBOOKS :(
Following my previous answer, click on office button, excel options, specify,
uncheck update links with other documents (section below formulas section, it's called "when calculate in this worksheet" or so, do not know exactly as I do not have english excel) "Dan" wrote: Help!
