Default xml import....Size limit?? Can the XML file be split??

I created an XML file with around 30,000nodes. I am having trouble
importing this file into EXCEL 2007. I get an error message that says "data
failed to import" However, when i try to import a identical type file, but
with less nodes, the file imports properly.

My question is there a size limit on the import of an XML file into
EXCEL2007? Is there a way of splitting the XML file into smaller files
and then open it into a single worksheet (XML table). I would to do this all
in EXCEL VB if possible. If there is a good external program to use, i could
use that as well.

Thank you.
