Default formula prompts

In Excel 2003, how do I get it to stop giving me annoying formula prompts
when I attempt to type a formula? The prompts come up and cover up cells I'm
trying to work with.

sorry don't know how to turn it off, but i actually think its one of the
most useful features introduced in excel ... funny how opinions differ!

Tools/Options/General tab, deselect "Function Tooltips"
