Default removing cell pattern

When looking at a spreadsheet it shows the light colored cell borders for
navagating purpures (they don't show when printing). Is there a way to
remove these cell borders when looking at the sheet (I'm not talking about
Print Preview - I'm talking about removing the cell patterns/boraders on the
working sheet)

Please advise.

TOOLSOPTIONSVIEW then uncheck Gridlines.

This applies only to the active sheet. You will have to do this in turn to
other sheets.

Record a macro to automate the process.
