Default EXCELs test wizard determined data is delimited - since

I opened a xls file with MS Excel that's been opened and reopened each week
for the last year. Now, I click to open and get a notice - that data is
delimited. How do I return things to "normal"? I can see no regular numbers
or words, just gobbledy gook.

An xls file doesn't need the text wizard to open it.
What is the file extension? [Make sure that in Windows you are viewing the
extensions on files, and not fooling yourself with something like
something.xls.txt which (if you are hiding extensions) might look as if it's
called something.xls and actually be an Excel file rather than a text file,
burt would be treated as a text file.]
Try opening the file in Notepad, and see whether you can read it (in which
case it's text) or whether it looks like gobbledygook there. If the latter,
take a copy of the file and change the extension from .txt to .xls.

Another option if you are struggling is to go back to the backup of your
file.
