Default Opening files and folders with details

How do I get the Open Folders and File box to show details all the time, or
as default. I went to computer and click on a file that was showing
thumbnails and details, click the view button, click details, then click
tools, go to folder options, check apply to all. This did not work.

Window Vista 2007 Work

Please help if you can.

I am not sure but I guess Excel remembers the last setting... changed via the
VIEW dropdown (Top-Right corner)

There might be a registry setting..

I am having the same issue, very annoying to have to change this every time I
restart Excel.

The vistax64 article is for VISTA itself - changing the OS settings seems to
have no effect on Office - other articles across the web seem to imply office
uses a different set of controls and thus have their own settings apart from
the Common dialogs ...
