Default on saving spreadsheet says "file not saved"

On save OR save as I get the message "file not saved"

File is not read only
Have switched PC on and off
Have copied file to another disk and tried again

Cutting and Pasting to a new file will take ages - its multiple spreadsheets
with lots of formulae!

Help!

Have you tried saving to a new location? If you're saving to a common network
share, maybe you don't have rights to do that.

Maybe you can save to your C: drive???

Do you get any other text in that error message?
