This question is a bit long winded, but I hope someone can help.
I have a Workbook thats linked to another work book on the server at work P drive. When I open the first work book Bill Sheet Log and go to the cell C2 thats linked to the other sheet Twinwire Estimating Sheet the formula looks like this- ='P:\Contracts Quoted\Twinwire Pitch\[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. If I open Twinwire Estimating Sheet first then go to open Bill Sheet Log the formula looks like this- ='\\wm01srv\public\Contracts Quoted\Twinwire Pitch\[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. When they are both like this and I change [Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. Bill Sheet Log C2 doesnt change, but sometimes when both are open the formula looks like this- ='[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5 and when the formula is like this Bill Sheet Log C2 changes when I change [Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. My question is what do I need to do so the cell changes every time I change the other cell, can I lock this link? -- Thank you in advance for any help. In 2003 It's Edit | Links | Update Values. AFAIK, you can't make this link "live", but you can tell the requesting sheet to automatically update external values when it is opened. |
