Link to other worksheet fails.
This question is a bit long winded, but I hope someone can help.
I have a Workbook thats linked to another work book on the server at work €śP€ť drive. When I open the first work book €śBill Sheet Log€ť and go to the cell €śC2€ť thats linked to the other sheet €śTwinwire Estimating Sheet€ť the formula looks like this- ='P:\Contracts Quoted\Twinwire Pitch\[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. If I open €śTwinwire Estimating Sheet€ť first then go to open €śBill Sheet Log€ť the formula looks like this- ='\\wm01srv\public\Contracts Quoted\Twinwire Pitch\[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. When they are both like this and I change [Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5. €śBill Sheet Log€ť C2 doesnt change, but sometimes when both are open the formula looks like this- ='[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5 and when the formula is like this €śBill Sheet Log€ť C2 changes when I change €ś[Twinwire Estimating Sheet.xls]Start Sheet'!$C$5€ť. My question is what do I need to do so the cell changes every time I change the other cell, can I lock this link? -- Thank you in advance for any help. In 2003 It's Edit | Links | Update Values. AFAIK, you can't make this link "live", but you can tell the requesting sheet to automatically update external values when it is opened. |

Do you know how to get this in 2007?

Do you know how to get this in 2007? Sorry, no. If no one else answers in this thread you might want to repost the specific question "where is the link manager in Excel 2007?" Best of luck! |
