Default Excel - cut and paste

I am unable to cut tables and then paste them into an Excel spreadsheet. I
can cut and paste within a workbook but not from another source, even another
Excel spreadsheet.

This started a bout 6-8 weeks ago. My job requires a lot of spreadsheet
work now and I need this feature back. I have been using a co-worker's PC to
paste and save and then continue working at my own PC.

What could have caused this change and how do I fix it? I had a person from
out MIS Dept but he was unable to find a solution.

Marjon,
Strange ! Only thing I can think of is that some macro actually cancels your
copy action.
Have you got any macro's running, for example 'WorkbookActivate' ??

Other then that, any other symptoms? Does this only happen to tables or to
single cells as well? Does it happen when you copy something from another
Windows application, for example Word?

You write that you can paste on your co-workers PC. Do you paste into the
same spreadsheet all the time or do you paste into a new spreadsheet??

rdwj,
It happens when trying to paste from Word and Excel, the programs I use most
often. It happens to single cells and tables. The one important piece of
info I forgot to include was when I try to paste into a spreadsheet, what I
see is the 'pdf' icon. It's as if Excel is recognizing anything coming from
outside the existing workbook as a pdf file.

Marjon,
if you switch on your Clipboard (View - Toolbars) can you check what icon
appears when you copy from either xls or word - and what happens if you
switch to another application?
