Default Number of worksheets

Is there a maximum number of worksheets that can be in a single workbook - I
am considering setting up a system that will have 500+ individual sheets -
albeit with very basic information/formulas on each one. Is this OK?

Gilly,

the limit is set by available memory on the machine you are using and unless
that is something very special you will almost certainly run out of memory
long before you have created 500 sheets.

Thanks Mike for the answers to both of my questions this morning... how many
basic sheets do you reckon I could safely have in a workbook ???

Hi,

That's not a question that's easily answered because it depends what's on
those sheets. With empty sheets and with a fairly high end machine I have no
difficulty creating more than 1000 sheets in a workbook but start populating
them with formats, data and named ranges etc then that number decreases
significantly. all i suggest is you experiment.
