Default Excel & Access 2007 SP1 - Data in the Clipboard "damaged"

When I try to copy and paste data from Excel to Access (2007 SP1), I get the
following message:-

"The data on the Clipboard is damaged, so Microsoft Access can't paste it.
There may be an error in the Clipboard, or there may not be enough free
memory. Try the operation again."

There's no lack of memory that I know of - anyone have any ideas what is
causing this?
