In previous versions of office, I could set a file to make a backup when I
saved it. I cannot find a way to do this with Excel 2007 and though I have the automatic backup set to save every ten minutes, my automatic backup folder AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\ is always empty. Any solution? |

AutoRecover is not "Automatic Backup" and the AutoRecover file is
deleted when the Excel file is closed. Bruce wrote: In previous versions of office, I could set a file to make a backup when I saved it. Understood, but is there no way in Excel 2007 of setting a file to make a
backup when it is closed (in the same folder as the original file) as there was in earlier versions of Excel? I don't have Excel 2007, but
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...SaveBackupCopy suggests it's similar to 2003 in that its's one of the options uder "Save As": "Automatically save a backup copy of a workbook Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then point to the arrow next to Save As. Click the arrow next to Tools, and then click General Options. Select the Always create backup check box. " -- David Biddulph "Bruce" wrote in message ... Unfortunately excel 2007 does not appear to have this option under "save as"
but I'll look further, thanks. I seem to have found it at last, though the steps were not quite the same as
described in the document you quoted. Many thanks for your help. Mind sharing? I have not seen anything other than the AutoRecover for 2007.
