Default Data connections in Excel

I have several excel spreadsheets that connect to a database and draw out the
data as required. A fellow co-worker wants to also use these sheets and I
have since passed them on to her to use but she can not get the data to
update on them when she uses them. Do I need to re-create the database
connection so she can see the data also? Also, shouldn't the database
connection be present in the ODBC manager in Windows XP? I just do not see
them there from the excel spreadsheets I built.
