Default what is this?

i am having a problem.
i try to enter a formula in cell c1 like :
=a1/a2
but when i press enter i get this: =a1/a2
what is wrong ??

Hi,

2 Options

1. the cell was formatted as text
Format as general and while still in the cell tap f2 & Enter.

2. Tools|Options - view tab
Un-check 'Show formulas'.

Default what is this?

The cell is formatted as Text or you have View Formulas enabled.

For the View Formulas hit CTRL + `(backquote above Tab key)

For the Text, re-format to General then F2 then ENTER to re-enter the
formula(s).
