I am having trouble downloading a csv file attachment from an email. I don't
recall having this trouble before. I click on the attachment and get the File Download box but it doesn't show the size of file, time remaining, etc. I have tried to Save the Target As with the same results. Nothing is working. |

I figured it out. It wouldn't download from Microsoft HotMail but did from
Windows Live Mail - go figure. "cruiser" wrote: I am having trouble downloading a csv file attachment from an email. I don't recall having this trouble before. I always find it safer to save an attachment to an appropriate folder
on the hard disc, and then open it from there rather than from within the mail program. Pete On Dec 5, 11:08*pm, cruiser wrote: I am having trouble downloading a csv file attachment from an email. The e-mail may be corrupted and you will have to have the person resend the
file. One thing you may want to try is to forward the e-mail to yourself. then see if you can download the file recieved in the 2nd message ( the one from your self). It is possible the e-mail is corrupted and and not the csv file. resending may solve the problem. It is also possible the the person who sen\t the file has a firewall on their computer (or server) that prevents attached files (or certain extensions) from being sent. The person who sent the file may have to rename the file for you to recieve it properly. One company I know blocks zip files. So we rename the zip files piz (zip backwards) and it doesn't get blocked. CSV files are considered Excel files which can contain macros. Some companies block all files with macros.
