Default Commission Percentage

Hi, I have a figure say 44600(this number can change at any time). On the
first $20000 of that figure 2% is to be deducted, on the next 20000.00 4 %
and on the balance 5%. is there anyway that this can be worked out?.
I tried with a "IF" formula was not getting the result i had hoped.
