Default 3D pivot tabling

XL2003. Analysing surveys. A user has a large survey (fewer than a hundred
responses but loads of questions) of multichoice questions, each with multi
answers, along the lines of "How many of these statements apply to you?"
I'd like to analyse it with static data (respondents' sites, departments
etc) and the various Q1 answers that were given, Q2 answers and so on.
The only way I can see to do it (apart from VBA at which I am close to
hopeless) is to turn one multichoice answer into several single answers, eg
Respondent 1234 chose C, D, F and H for Q1, so turn that into four rows each
starting with Respondent 1234. This is an uninviting task: please can you
help me do it more cleverly?
