Default DATE FORMAT CHANGE FROM EXCEL WORKSHEET TO PIVOT TABLE

Hello, I have a pivot table in Excel that loads in info from an Access db
Table. On my Excel pivot, I have "Posting Date" as a field, and the
different dates populate from that table. However, the posting dates are
populting is in this format, "01-Oct" but I want it them to be in this format
"10/1/08."

On my table in access, the date format is what I want, the 10/1/08. When I
check the data properties for the Posting Date field, it says "Date/Time".
When I run the make table query, and the table refreshes, I get the format I
want on the table. How come when I link this Excel pivot to it, it changes
the date format, and what can I do to fix that?

Looking forward to hearing back from someone!
Wendy
