auto locking of excell workbook (excell 2003)
Hi,
Apologies but I find it slightly amusing that a sensitive workbook should be left open and unattended but here we are. By far the safest solutions and in order a- 1. Make the users have the self discipline to close the password protected workbook. 2. Close the workstation using the screensaver with password to unlock. 3. use the code here http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32949 Mike "cheekymonkey" wrote: have an excell workbook, it contains sensitive information due to the nature of the company/job etc. Upon opening these workbooks , if unused after a short time can they be locked auto matically requiring a pass word to re open ? |

If the data is that sensitive, why not require a password to open to start
with? But to answer your question.............yes it can be done. See Chip Pearson's site for the OnTime method. http://www.cpearson.com/excel/OnTime.aspx Just remember there are password crackers available out there.
