Default Text Field in a cell changes characters

I type in (caps) 'HSI' and it reverts to 'HIS'. I checked what options
seemed logical to me - but nothing working

In xl2003, it's under:

Tools|autocorrect options|autocorrect tab.

Look for HSI and remove the entry.

Or hit ctrl-z (edit|Undo) as soon as you notice it if you want to keep the
autocorrection entry.
