In Excel i clicked Help/Detect & Repair. It asked for the original source
disk which I don't have and didn't recieve with my computer. Now I can't even start Excel. It always tries to install Excel and asks for that source disk. I'm using Office 2003 Standard Edition. Any Suggestions? -- Thanks for your help |

You need to contact the computer maker and get a copy or download an image
if that's possible -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "LesHurley" wrote in message ... In Excel i clicked Help/Detect & Repair. I still say you should have a legal copy, and not a bootlegged copy you
bought from some random computer store. -- ** John C ** "LesHurley" wrote: For anyone who may be interested, I found a way to get Excel running again at this link: http://forums.thomasnet.com/viewtopic.php?p=53927 -- Thanks for your help "John C" wrote: Buy a legal copy of Office 2003? -- ** John C ** "LesHurley" wrote: In Excel i clicked Help/Detect & Repair. I actually think that some computer makers include an OEM version of office
without the physical CDs where they have a hidden partition with a backup copy of the OS and all installed programs. Where if you screw up or remove that partition you can download a CD image to recreate that partition and restore it. Not that I would buy such a thing but I know these things can happen -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "John C" <johnc@stateofdenial wrote in message ... Well, I have to agree, but I thought they sold me an OEM copy: They charged
me enough for it to be one. Anyway they no longer have a copy. They wanted to sell me 2007. -- Thanks for your help "Peo Sjoblom" wrote: You need to contact the computer maker and get a copy or download an image if that's possible -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "LesHurley" wrote in message ...
