Hi all,

I am using Excel 2007 and when opening a file that was emailed to me with an
..xlw extension nothing happens. I click on it and nothing. No errors, excel
does open, but thats it.

Please help I cannot see to find any answers to this anywhere, thanks.

Hi Hal,

Just a stab in the dark.

Make a copy and try changing the file extension from .xlw to .xls
and see if that will open.

Hal
an .xlw is a workspace file, it stores information about a group of
workbooks, and their state (visible, tiled etc).
You need the .xls files that the .xlw refers to, in the same relative
location to do anything useful

You need the xls files to go with the workbook file in order toopen/use
the file.
