Default Excel 2007 Format issue, colons being substituted for decimals.

We are upgrading our Office version to 2007 and have come across an
interesting problem. We use SAP and download transactional data from SAP to
Excel for further analysis.

In Excel 2003, negative numbers in the display on SAP display as "2,500.00-"
export to Excel as a number (or general) "-2500.00".

In Excel 2007, negative numbers in the display on SAP display as "2,500.00-"
export to Excel as text "-2500:00". I cannot even get these to reformat using
a custom format due to the colon and text status. There is no way to set or
adjust the export options in SAP and it happens through an API call and the
worksheet just pops open with the data in it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I checked all my language and regional settings in Excel 2007 and they are
all set to US and English. I am not sure where to look.

A quick workaround would be to highlight the column and use Find/Replace.

Find : replace with .
