Default How to Get a Single Date-Based Present Value

I want to get a present value of:

Amount: $2
Date of Payment: 1/1/2009
Discount Rate: 5%

I tried to use XNPV for this with:

XNPV(Discount,Amount,Date)

but it gives a #NAME? error.

Is my usage incorrect, or is this the wrong function for what I want here?
