Default FILE DELETED,NAME STILL APPEARS

I have deleted a file,but the file same still appears. How do I get rid of
the file name

Default FILE DELETED,NAME STILL APPEARS

If you don't mind losing your other files, you can go to Tools - Options -
General tab - uncheck Recently used file list. Course, that wipes out the
others too. Can also lower the # of files in the recent list...

Where does the filename still appear? In an Excel sheet, in the list
of recently opened files, in the desktop/folder in Windows Explorer?
