Operating system is XP. Office 2000 came installed. I am trying to calculate
CUMPRINC, but can not do so without Add In form Analysis Tool Pak, which is
not installed. Don't have disc with Tool Pak on it. Hoew do I find it online,
download and install it?

You don't need to go online. Just go to Tools, Add-ins, and check the box
for Analysis ToolPak. CUMPRINC will be added to your available functions;
it will be in the Financial group.

This won't work if the Analysis ToolPak has not been installed; in that
case it won't show up in the references list.

Hmmm, I've installed it on two computers, one with Office 97 and one with
Office 2003, and in both cases I did not have to put the CD in the CD drive.
But, if I understand you correctly, you're saying the option to be able to
install Analysis ToolPak must have been part of the Excel installation in
order to be able to add the Analysis ToolPak at a later time with having to
use the CD, right? I don't recall seeing that as an option during an Office
installation, but it's been awhile and my memory may not be clear on that.

So, I would say it's quite possible he can add the Analysis ToolPak without
the Office CD. He can certainly look under Tools, Add-ins. It will either
be there or it won't. If it isn't, then he'll have to get the Office CD in
order to add it.
