How do you REALLY get Excel to Autonumber consecutively?
I have followed both sets of the instructions to the letter but can only get
repetitive numbering.. i.e. 1,1,1,1,1,. I want consecutive just like the instructions say I am going to get 1,2,3,4,5,... thanx |

How do you REALLY get Excel to Autonumber consecutively?
put in 1, Enter, 2, enter, Select both cells and then drag the corner of

How do you REALLY get Excel to Autonumber consecutively?
Which instructions are these?
Put 1 in A1 and 2 in A2, then highlight both cells and then drag the fill handle (the small black square in the bottom right corner of the highlighted area) down as far as you need. Alternatively, put 1 in A1, highlight the cells you want this to apply to (eg A1:A15), click on Edit | Fill | Series (which should default to an increment of 1) and click OK. There are quite a few other ways, as well. Hope this helps. How do you REALLY get Excel to Autonumber consecutively?
Hold down the Ctrl key while you drag the starting cell's fill handle.

Cell A1 enter 1

Enter 1 in A1 Right-click on the fill handle and drag down.
