Default Totalling "Yes" or "No"....

I have a spreadsheet that contains a column with a "Y" for yes, or "N" for
no. I'd like to automatically count how many of the cells contain "Y".

How do I go about doing so?

Look in Excel help for the function COUNTIF.

Try,

=COUNTIF(A1:A50,"Y")
