Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 on the same machine
I have installed both excel 2003 and excel 2007 on my laptop (both are
licensed versions). The 2007 I installed as 'complete', but I kept 2003 also. When I open any excel spreadsheet, version *.xls, it is automatically opened in excel 2007. Is there any way I can control the default version to open *.xls spreadsheets in excel 2003? I also have access 2003 and access 2007 installed on the same computer, and I do not have this problem. thanks, Howard |

You should be able to do this:
Open MyComputer Choose Tools | Folder Options Then click on the File Types tab. Scroll down to find the XLS entry and then click on the [Change] button. Navigate to find your Excel 2003 file and identify it as the file to use to open XLS files. Be sure to check the "always use this file..." option once you've identified Excel 2003 as the file to use to open them. Open Up Windows Explorer - Tools - Folder Options - File Types
and in the list go to the XLS extension, then Click the Change button, either pick Excel 2003 from the list given or if not there then browse to the Excel 2003 Program by clicking the Browse button. -- Rui "howard08817" wrote in message ... In windows, startrun
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 2003\Office11\Excel.exe" /Regserver replace what's between the quotations with your path. This will make Excel 2003 default application for all none 2007 native file formats -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "howard08817" wrote in message ...
