Default Cell changes format upon saving file

The numeric cells in a spreadsheet are formatted as numbers with 0-3
decimals. I save the spreadsheet and exit the program. Next time in, when I
load the spreadsheet the formats of these cells have changed to date formats.
Can anyone help me with why this is happening and how to correct it?

What type of file do your have XLS or CSV. If it is CSV then it will not
preserve the formating. Try saving the CSV file using SAVEAS and save the
file. Then always open the XLS file.

Check out
http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...2fsettings.xml

I still don't know how this setting got changed, but I suspect that one of
my users is making this change without realizing the extent of it's effect.
