I have an Excel doc where there are two parts side-by-side. On the left is
the data that I manipulate - adding and removing lines as needed. On the right side are the labels that I copy into the left side. These do not change. If I add or remove a line on the left side, I'd like to know if there is a way to protect the right-side from line insertions and deletions? |

If you have Excel 2003 you can create a List from the left side data.
Select range then DataList You can insert and delete rows within the List without affecting rows outside the list. Excel 2007 has re-named the feature to Table but functionality is same......I believe..........do not run 2007 so cannot verify. Versions earlier than 2003 did not have the feature. Cut the labels and move to another sheet.
Copy from there or refer to them from first sheet. Gord On Fri, 15 Aug 2008 09:27:01 -0700, meems wrote: I have Excel 2000...thank you anyway!
