Default Accidental exit -- even with autorestore/autobackup on -- no recov

Is there no way to recover from accidentally hitting 'no' to save changes
prompt?
Both autorestore and autobackup options are on, but seems once you make that
one mistake and click that 'exit' button there is no backup file to restore
from.
