Default open text file in Excel and remove columns

hi. i have a text file that on my computer when i open it with Excel the
Text Import Wizard opens and after clicking on the next button, I get a
chance to drag unneeded column dividers off the screen. No one else here can
do that. Any idea why? I don't recall doing anything special to my
computer. Thanks.
