Not possible unless there is a backup either by the user or something like
an email previously sent with the file as an attachment or finally if there is a backup on the network -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "bindurajeesh" wrote in message ... Restore file file from the backup copy.

Any other options. The user had this file on own desktop which is not
independently backed up as the server is. I bet overlapped means overlaid (saved it with the same name).
Does she have a back up copy of the old file? Maybe in her sent folder of her email client??? (Maybe she shared it with someone else.) Maybe the IT staff does automatic backups???? If there are no backups, then your user is out of luck. bindurajeesh wrote: I have a user who has overlapped an old excel file with a new excel file and she wants to undo the overlap so that she can have the old file back. the overlap has been saved. Not unless the user sent a copy of the file to someone else. If they
emailed it you might find a copy in the e-mail sent folder. Or the person who received it may still have it. But that copy on the desktop is out of reach by anything but a data forensics / recovery firm. bindurajeesh wrote: Any other options.
