Default Problems Down saving from Excel 2007

I wrote a spreadsheet in Excel 2007 but now someone using 2000 wants to use
it. When I get a "Significant loss of functionality" error. But the error
talks about overlapping conditional formatting. So I thought this wouldnt
be a problem.

However when I open the spreadsheet in 2000 a lot of the cells are showing
the "#NAME?" error.

When I open the spreadsheet in compatibility mode in 2007 the spread sheet
runs okay. I am really struggling to find the problem

How anyone got any suggestions.

Thank you.

What do you have in those cells giving the #NAME error? Perhaps you
are making use of formulae from the Analysis Tool-Pak add-in (which is
built-in in 2007, but which needs to be explicitly installed in
earlier versions).

Hope this helps.

I don't think I am using the analysis tool-pak functions. There dosen't seem
to be a common error to the fomulae I am using. I got rid of some of the
errors by unhiding a sheet. But this has far from solved the problem

Any more suggestions?

Thank you.

Yes it is - and any of the complex number functions. If you install
the ATP in XL2000 it might be that those #NAME errors disappear.

Hope this helps.

The IMABS function is covered by the Excel help facility (as is every other
Excel function but one). That will tell you whether or not it is part of
the Analysis ToolPak, and it will also tell you plenty of other useful
information.
