When opening Excel, I get multiple instances of this error in a Microsoft
Visual Basic error box. It also happens when I open an existing spreadsheet
and when I edit the worksheet.

There is no error number.

Everything seems to work fine, it is just annoying as heck.

I have tried a repair, and a repair/reinstall. Neither has worked.

I have not uninstalled Office and reinstalled it.

Can anyone help?

1. Disable add-ins: Sometimes, add-ins can cause conflicts with Excel and result in errors. To disable add-ins, go to the "File" tab, click "Options," and then select "Add-ins." From there, you can manage your add-ins and disable any that you suspect may be causing the issue.
   
2. Clear Excel's cache: Excel stores temporary files in a cache, and sometimes these files can become corrupted and cause errors. To clear the cache, go to the "File" tab, click "Options," and then select "Advanced." Scroll down to the "General" section and click "Web Options." In the "Browsing history" section, click "Delete" and then select "Temporary Internet files and website files." Click "Delete" again to clear the cache.
   
3. Repair Office: You mentioned that you've already tried a repair, but it's worth trying again. To repair Office, go to the "Control Panel" and select "Programs and Features." Find Microsoft Office in the list of installed programs, right-click it, and select "Change." From there, you can choose to repair Office.
   
4. Uninstall and reinstall Office: If none of the above solutions work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall Office. Before doing so, make sure you have your product key and any installation media you may need. To uninstall Office, go to the "Control Panel" and select "Programs and Features." Find Microsoft Office in the list of installed programs, right-click it, and select "Uninstall." Once Office is uninstalled, you can reinstall it using your product key and installation media.

I hope one of these solutions works for you!

Try removing any addins that you have. Also remove personal.xls from the
xlStart folder. Both of those can have code that would run when you open XL
and or a spreadsheet. If that solves your problem then we just need to narrow
down which one is causing the problem...

A very big THANK YOU to both of the gentlemen who assisted with this post.

Thank you Dave/Jim and Purdy for sharing this in the forum. I also came
across the same error and this post was very helpful. I started excel in safe
mode and completed detect and repair. This seems to have resolved the problem!
