I opened and excel file from my email and worked on it for hours. I clicked
safe after modifying it. and when i went to search for it, it was no where to
be found. Can someone please tell me where to look. I already did a search in
"everywhere and can't find it still.

The file is a part of your mail file so it save it back in the mail file if there are no problems.
Never open and work on files from you mail program, always save the file on your desktop first

Try to drag and drop the file from the mail on your desktop and check it.
If you are lucky it is OK

An easy way to find that folder is to open an attached file, then use File
Open again, and that folder should be active.

And you've just learned a good lesson - always save attachments, then open
them from within Excel.
