Greetings,
We have recently ran across an issue that may hold up our deployment due to the programming issue it causes. Here is the steps to recreate the situation in Excel 2007. 1. Create 2 basic workbooks (no macros) named wb1.xlsx and wb2.xlsx 2. In wb1 I defined a name SameName and made the scope Worksheet 3. Then I created another name SomeOtherName and kept the scope as workbook. 4. In wb2 I created a link to wb1 (=[wb1]Sheet1!$A$2). Just type the = and switch to wb1 to select the cell A2. 5. Save them both 6. Close wb1, leave wb#2 open 7. Reopen wb1 8. The defined name SomeOtherName, whose scope is workbook, has been deleted. This causes programming issues if the defined name does not exist, which in this case the workbook defined name is removed. Our Environemnt is Win XP SP2 and Office 2007 Pro Plus. Can any provide any help on this issue? -- Nick |
