Default Excel 2003 how to stop emails from turning into hyperlinks?

In excel 2003, sometimes when I type a person's email address it turns blue
and underlined and excel tries to send them an email. How do I turn off the
hyperlinking? thanks

You can use edit|Undo (or ctrl-z) to reverse this helpful behavior.

You can also use:
tools|autocorrect options|autoformat as you type tab
uncheck that top option.
