Thanks for posting the hint about engineering formatting. If A1, B1 and C1
are all formatted that way, how can I use formulas to add or subtract? Thanks,

Default Custom Formatting

You use the formula to add or subtract or whatever in the normal way. The
formatting of the cells doesn't affect what number is stored, merely how it
is displayed. --
