When I press Control End the cursor goes to final maximum cell of the
worksheet. I can't understand why. I have tried deleting the rows and columns but that doesn't work. I am running a conversion program that reads every active cell. In the above scenario, it takes it too long to read upto row 65k+, and for each column. So, how can I reduce the actual size of the worksheet to say 10 columns and 100 rows? Hiding/Grouping doesn't work. Thanks. |

To reduce the actual size of the worksheet to 10 columns and 100 rows, you can follow these steps:
This will delete all the rows and columns beyond the 100th row and 10th column, respectively. This will reduce the size of your worksheet and make it easier for the conversion program to read every active cell.

You need to save the file after deleting the unused rows and columns -
Debra Dalgleish has some more notes he http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html#Unused You cannot actually reduce the number of rows and columns - you can hide them, but they are still there. Hope this helps. Pete On Jun 26, 10:53*am, Faisal wrote: When I press Control End the cursor goes to final maximum cell of the worksheet. I can't understand why. You're welcome - what did you actually do in the end?
