Can someone tell me a good add in or if it's possible to make a symbol

What type of symbols?

You mean paragraph marks and stuff like that?

Excel is not well suited to be a word processing application.

To insert symbols go to InsertSymbol and choose.

If you're using office 2002+, you can use:
Insert|symbol

Chip Pearson has an addin that may help (if you're using xl2k or lower).

(look for Symbolizer and make sure you get the correct version)

Maybe you could create a macro to insert a symbol and assign a shortcut to that
macro.
