Default excel file dimension

Hi all,
I've got a file with 12 sheets.
about 40 rows and 10 columns. and the cells are almost empty.
the cells contains general text.

the problem is that the file dimension is about 11M.
too much for 40 rows and 10 columns...

which is the problem?
I tried to delete one sheet and save the file.
I saw that about 5 sheets dimension was 2M. too much.

why so much?

I also deleted every sheets till the first.
I deleted cells content and rows too. but still the dimension is 600k.
But the file with one empty sheet has nothing inside. is empty ...at video.

What can I do?
Which is the problem?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

On each sheet look at the scroll bar on the bottom and side. Go to the end
of the data and see if the scrol bar looks like you are at the end of the
data, if not, select the last column after the data through the end and right
click delete and do the same for the lines. Sometimes Excel think there is
data there or you may have a formula through a line after the data you have
copied (make sure you do not need that) ,

Then most important , do "save as" or rename the file. If you do save, it
sometimes will not release the data.

good luck
