Default Deleting Files from within Excel

When I accidently click on delete with a file highlighted it deletes the file
without prompting me for a confirmation. How can I get the confirmation back?

Do you mean from the File -- Open dialog?

Check your Recycle Bin Properties (Global tab) -- XP has a "Display delete
confirmation dialog" option.

Yes, it is the file--open dialog box but it is Windows 2000.

Does it happen with other apps? Does W2000 Recycle Bin have a "Display
delete confirmation dialog" option? Do deleted files go to the Bin or get
shredded?
